Brief Paperwork
Upon entering Pura Vida Chiropractic, you will have some brief
paperwork to fill out which will help us gain some information
about yourself and your condition. You can download these forms
to fill out prior to entering the office.
Consultation
Once the paperwork is complete you will sit down with Dr. Rebecca
Heidelberger D.C. and she will then ask some specific questions
regarding your condition to determine if chiropractic care may
be of benefit to you. You will discuss your health related problems,
concerns as well as potential treatment options. If Dr. Rebecca
Heidelberger can help you, she will let you know. If she cannot
help you, you will be referred to another doctor in Denver who
can help. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Chiropractic Examination
After a thorough consultation in our Washington Park office with
Dr. Rebecca Heidelberger, she will do a series of test to determine
what your actual problem is. You will have a complete chiropractic
examination. This will include testing of your reflexes, your
ability to bend and turn, standard orthopedic, neurologic, postural
and physical tests. These specialized tests will be performed
to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. This
information will help the doctor gain a better understanding of
how chiropractic can help you. If necessary, the doctor may take
x-rays or refer you for additional testing procedures.
X-rays
X-rays are sometimes required to get a full evaluation of your
condition. They may be needed to either rule out more serious
conditions or assist in developing the most effective treatment
plan for you. The need for x-rays is considered on a case by case
basis.
Report of Findings
Once all the information and examinations have been performed,
the doctor will give you a report of findings and tell you recommendations
for treatment.
Treatment
Most of our patients begin to see results from the very first
adjustment. Our special gentle yet effective alignment of the
body is interactive with the patient, gentle enough for kids,
yet able to restore function and movement for the athlete and
senior.
Home Instructions
Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain
activities or procedures to be done at home or throughout the
day. This may include ice or heat instruction, avoiding certain
activities or positions as well as exercises and/or stretches.
